The main benefit of this card is the generous 2 points per pound for everyday spend that is awarded. IHG offer the very popular points breaks promotion which allows you to book nights from 5,000 points. Based on this spending £2,500 on the card would be enough to entitle you to a free night at a 5,000 point property. As this card is a Mastercard it is accepted virtually everywhere so you can literally put all spend through it. Also it can be combined with the Curve card to allow you to put debit card spend through the IHG rewards credit card to further maximise points earned.
Additional points are offered on IHG bookings and on foreign spend. However, there is a charge associated with foreign spend so it is probably best avoided (unless being combined with the Curve card). The main use for this card is putting all your normal sterling spend through the card to earn as many points as possible.
The points earned through the credit card even contribute to your qualifying points towards the Spire status.
